TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR IS STUDENTS
1. The student agrees to attend all tutorials and lectures specified in the timetable and also agree that if he/she fails to achieve an attendance of 90% this could lead to disciplinary action including termination from the course. Any absence of leave should be approved in writing by IS prior to leave.
2. Disciplinary action will be taken against students for any inappropriate form of behaviour or code of conduct which can lead to exclusion/termination from the course.
3. During the term time, students will not be given leave of absence for overseas holidays
4. The student is fully aware of the subjects that are offered on his/her course and is fully aware of the facilities and services offered by IS.
5. The student is fully aware of full tuition fees and instalment plan if required.
6. The student agrees that he or she cannot change, defer or withdraw from the course offered, without prior written permission from IS/Home Office
7. Your course fee includes all costs associated with your recruitment and administration and the costs of your tuition fee. When students are paying fees by instalments they must comply with the instalment plan specified in the offer letter.
8. IS’s fee refund policy is set out below:
a. In the case of overseas students, if the student’s visa is refused, all fees will be refunded excluding £150 as an administration charge within the next 28 working days after receiving the visa refusal documentation along with all original documents provided to the applicant. These should be sent in via secured delivery only whilst being addressed to the Admissions Officer.
b. In the case of the overseas students, once a student has obtained a visa, but does not commence the course, no monetary amount will be refunded.
c. Once the student has commenced the course fees will not be refunded.
d. In the event of termination from the course for disciplinary act, fees will not be refunded.
9. All courses and modules are subject to change and can vary from time to time. IS reserves the right to change the content of the course without any prior notice to the student. In the event of the selected course/ option or degree program being terminated or not conducted a suitable alternative will be provided for the student with an alternate institutions/ universities if required.
10. Registration of the college will be terminated if the students fail in the 2nd re-sit for any course module and will be reported to Home Office.
11. Students undertaking FOUNDATION course will have to pay the full course fee if they fail 2nd time. Their registration with the college will be terminated if they fail 3rd time and eventually will be reported to Home Office.
12. The student agrees to register for the course on the date mentioned in his/her offer letter. If there is any delay in his/her arrival into the UK due to valid reasons (subject to prior approval of IS), the student may be asked to start the course in the next available date/term. The student will not be registered under any other circumstances (personal problems, home sickness, accommodation problems etc.)
13. The student agrees for IS to disclose his/her details to the relevant immigration, Home office authorities, parents and sponsors of his/her registration, attendance and progression details.
14. Signing this terms and conditions indicates acceptance of the terms and conditions of the Innovative Skills by the student.
15. New/ Overseas students have to enrol to the college within 1 week of arrival to the United Kingdom; otherwise, he or she will be reported to the Border Agency.
STUDENT OBLIGATIONS
As a student of Innovative Skills studying on a student visa there are some RULES with which you MUST COMPLY.
Attendance
You must attend ALL timetabled classes. Your attendance will be recorded.
If you miss one class we will contact you to establish the reason.
If your attendance drops below 90% the college WILL inform the Border Agency.
There will be one verbal warning, 1 written warning before the absence/late attendance list is reported to Border Agency.
Absence
Absence due to health issues should informed to the college immediately and on rejoining, students should complete and hand in an absence form available with reception along with GP Certification to the Front Desk Officer.
Contact Information
The Home Office requires YOU (the student) to ensure the college has your correct address and mobile phone number. If any changes occur to your accommodation or phone number please complete a form available at reception. Any returned mail will be reported Home Office.
Academic Progress
Each student is expected to pass all assessments at the first attempt and MUST submit assignments or sit exams as per the college timetable. Missing any assessment will result in an AUTOMATIC failure and the student will be liable to pay a retake fee (see below).
Any student who in the opinion of the college is not progressing satisfactorily then the college MUST report the student to the Border Agency.
If you fail an assessment,
1. Providing your attendance is above 90% you will be allowed to retake the assessment at the next opportunity, as a re-sit, on payment of the relevant awarding body fee.
2. If your attendance is below 90% you will be required to attend and retake the module again and pay the pro rata fee. (For example a one year course with six modules and a fee of £3000 the retake module fee would be 3000/6 = £500.)
Visa extension
The college will only support an application for a visa extension providing the student has met the attendance requirements. The Home Office will require an explanation if a student requires an extension to continue with the course for which the visa was originally issued. |
