International Students: Visa Requirements
Students wishing to apply for a visa must contact the British High Commission, Consulate, or Embassy to make an application. All such applications will necessitate a letter of acceptance onto a full-time course at Innovative Skills Limited, as well as a valid passport valid of at least 6 months. Applicants will also need to assure authorities that they will abide by the following rules:
  • Students seeking a visa should contact the British High Commission, Consulate or the Embassy, allowing adequate time for their visa application to be dealt with. The college can provide proof of admission to a programme of study, but all other visa requirements remain the responsibility of the applicant.
  • Students must show documentary evidence of having sufficient funds to support themselves financially throughout their programme of study within the UK.
  • There are several visa requirements in relation to non- EU students, these are stated below and should be adhered to without exception. An explanatory guide on such matters, and other pertinent issues, will be issued to international students during Orientation Week
  • Non-EU students may only enrol for full-time programmes of study and are generally obliged to submit at least partial payment of fees in advance.
  • Non-EU student wishing to enter the UK must have obtained a visa permitting him/her to remain in the UK for a period of time sufficient to complete the chosen programme of study.
  • All non-EU students must return to their home country upon expiration of their visa or completion/termination of their programme of studies.
  • A student wishing to remain in the UK post completion of their studies must apply to the Home Office (Interior Department) for permission to extend their stay.
  • All of the above visa requirements also extend to Visa Nationals. Additionally, such persons may be required to attend an interview with an Entry Clearance Officer, upon which the Innovative Skills Limited may provide guidance. During this interview applicants should present themselves as well-spoken, and knowledgeable upon their chosen course of study. Above all else, the applicant should justify their academic intention to study their stipulated programme offered to them, support themselves throughout their stay and leave upon completion/termination of their studies.
Visa Refusal or Withdrawing from your Programme of Study
International students whose visa application is refused may receive a refund within 28 days of supplying proof of such refusal, minus an administration fee of £ 100. To process the refund all original documents issued by the college along with the Visa refusal letter must be sent back to the college via a secured delivery.  Please note refunds will not be processed for any Visa refused because of - provision of false information or documents during application, applicant did not have enough knowledge about the course or organisation, non-compliance of minimum IELTS requirement.  Any student wishing to withdraw after 10 days of course start date will receive refund after deducting fees for one course term.
